2.56" x 1.25" wt 1/2oz
Great Stocking Stuffer.
The Pocket Stove holds up to 2 oz. of fuel. However the best efficiency is achieved with partial fills (see field test below). Burn time can be extended to 14 minutes per oz. when partial fills of 1/2oz are used. 1/2 oz will boil two cups of water for three minutes adequate for many meals on the trail. 1/4oz will heat 1 cup of water for a hot drink. 1/4 oz is approx. 1 tablespoon by volume.
The Pocket Stove weighs 1/2 of an oz. and is durable. It's ideal for backpacking, hiking, camping, mountain climbing, biking, or any other outdoor hobby where you might want to make a hot meal with a stove that can be nocked around. You'll have to test the limits. We've carried it in our hip and shirt pockets while hiking, driving, camping, and we've also tested it by supporting two cinder blocks on top of the Pocket Stove.
The Pocket Stove measures 2.56" x 1.25". It comes packaged in our custom designed box measuring 2.75" X 1.5" making it a great stocking stuffer.
To light dribble approx. 1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon of alcohol fuel on surface beneath Pocket Stove. Place Pocket Stove on dribble and light dribbled fuel. The vents usually lights within five to ten seconds. Conditions vary. The burning dribbled fuel heats up the alcohol fuel inside the Pocket Stove which expands and escapes through vents in stove. The vaporized alcohol rising through the vents then lights. Some users cover fill vents, in the center of the stove, with a penny although we have not observed any difference in burn times with this practice.

TEST 1: 2 CUPS WATER 1/2 oz FUEL
1/2 oz fuel to boil 2 cups water
Time to boil: 3:38 Time to rolling boil:4:17
End to boil: 6:56 End to rolling boil: 6:33
Total rolling boil time 2:16
Total boiling time 3:18 (noodle recipe calls for 3 min. boil).
TEST 2: 1 CUP WATER 1/4 oz FUEL
1/4 oz fuel to boil 1 cup water
Time to boil: 3:37 Time to rolling boil: none
End to boil: 4:04 End to rolling boil: none
Total boiling time :27 (makes hot coffee or chocolate water)
Comments: One minute of rolling boil allows for purification of drinking water. 2 cup test achieved two minutes of boiling.
We won't have a scale when hiking but 1/4 oz. is apprx. 1 tablespoon. Allowing for excess, three meals, and four cups of coffee that works out to 2 ½ oz minimum per day. Three would be cutting it close but doable. I would allow four ounces per day for a backpacking trip and plan my meals carefully.
